“The device is not available in this version of Live”
This message means Max for Live is not installed. It is not a fault in the device, and the version number of Live does not matter.
Live shows it for every Max for Live device on:
- Live Intro
- Live Lite
- Live Standard without the Max for Live add-on
Max for Live is part of Live Suite. For Live Standard it is a paid add-on from Ableton. If you bought a device and cannot run it for this reason, write to us and you get a refund.
Installing
- Unzip the download.
- Drag the
.amxdfile onto a track in Live. A MIDI effect goes on a MIDI track, in front of the instrument it plays. - Live copies the device into your User Library, so you only do this once.
Updates
Download the latest file from your Gumroad library and drag it into Live as before. Updates within a major version are free, and sets saved with an earlier version load unchanged. Each product’s changelog lists what changed.

If a device does not run on your system, or is not what you expected, write to hello@marmaudio.com and you get your money back.
